Default Anyone used a perforated leather jacket?

I have seen the perforated leather jackets and they look like they would be good for warm weather riding, but I don't want to spend $400 - $500 on one, and then find out it is no better than my vented leather jacket from Fox Creek. I'm looking for something that might be a little cooler in warm weather. Anyone have any experience with these?

What's ur definition of "warm"? I have a few perforated leather jacekts and can tell you at temps above 85, you're hot in these regardless of how much you're moving. While the perforation helps a little, you're still sweating.

They are not bad if you are moving but stop or sit behind a windshiled or fairing and you will heat up. I have a HD 3xl perferated in great condition for sale for $200.00 plus shipping if you are interested.

Last winter I got a good price on a HD perf. armored leather with a zip out liner always wore tanks or t-shirts with sunblock in summer and would burn up. This jacket is great keeps me cool all day long little hot in traffic but when moving its like ac I wont ride without it. A friend got one the other day and he likes his to.

Thanks, but that is too big for me. I'm about a size 42 or just a large.

Have you looked at mesh jackets? Good protection, and very comfortable on hot summer days. I just bought this H-D mesh, $195, http://www.harley-davidson.com/mcm/m...bmLocale=en_US

I wear one, but not in the summer, way too hot. Have a mesh jacket for the hot times.

Wear my perforated leather jacket during the Florida "winter". If it gets too cold I just wear a pullover windbreaker under it. Works good.

I have a perforated leather jacket I bought at the local dealer a couple years ago when they had a "sidewalk" clearance sale. Think I paid about $225, It is much cooler than solid leather however when the temps get above 85 or so you will still be hot sitting still. When you are moving you can feel the wind in each of the holes and is fairly cool. Not a bad warm weather jacket as long as you are not in stop and go situation.

I have the orange and black HD perforated leather jacket. I much prefer it over my vented leather jacket in warmer temperatures. It looks good and did an excellent job helping protect me in my accident last week. I have next to no skin damage on my upper body as a result of the jacket.
