Chromejunkie I think nailed it.
That's the difference between the attitude of the "old school" generation and the "what's in it for me" generation. I certainly would have stopped to offer whatever help help I could.
By the way for you younger guys. Many of you have the "old school" attitude proving you don't have to be old like me to carry on the traditions.

yep! the rest of the guys pretty much summed it up. I was raised on the belief that if you see two wheels at teh side fo the road you stop and check on hte guy (or girl lol) You'll probably notice that most of the guys responding would have stopped, thats also why tey are posting too....kinda like stopping lol.

That really is sad. Being from the old way my 51 yrs and 29 yrs of riding have taught me what goes around usually comes around. I don't care if your stopped on a mountain bike, I'm going to stop and ask if everything is ok.
To me that's just the rules of the road. Sad many don't feel that way.

I hear ya loud & clear! Shortly after my wife got her first bike we were riding between Dahlonega,Ga. and Suches,Ga. when she dumped her bike going through a curve. While we were getting the bike and my wife out of the road not one Harley rider stopped to see if we were ok. The only other riders that stopped were on a Beemer and a Kawasaki and a man & his son in a pickup stopped too and offered the use of their first aid kit to doctor up the road rash on her arm. Needless to say I was really disillusioned with my brothers & sisters in the H-D community especially since a large number of bikes came by while she was down! That went completely against the way I was taught. Speaking for myself I will stop if I see a rider down no matter what kind of bike you may be on.

Did You bother to try to flag one down ?
If you did then shame on them.
If you did not then shame on you.
And one more thing, what could they have
done Had they stoped ? Do you realy think
that they owe you something because you
ride a bike?

BROTHERHOOD.
A foreign concept to some.
A life style to others.
A brother hood of two wheels.
Too bad some just don't get it.

It is old skool to stop, offer a hand or whatever. seems today everyone only worried about themselves. karma, never know when that might be you on the side of the road. i stop for ANY biker broken down, don't care what u ride, two wheels iz two wheels.

Seems common courtesy to stop and offer a hand. Total strangers have been kind enough to help me out and I always try to pass it on or pay it forward as some say.
When you're too rushed to stop and help a fellow traveler stranded on a lonely hiway, you're just too rushed.
