If an idiot driver is too stupid to see a bike in a parking space, he's probably too stupid to see the silly little sticker.

Other then at motels/hotels I don't really worry about it. People are coming and going all the time in a parking lot and who knows what will happen to the spots next to you once the bike is out of sight.

I don't give much thought to the make or model of car.
Running errands...up on the sidewalk if practical.
Up hill of shopping carts.
Next to an island.
Under a light at night.
Most just out of the way were it's easy to make my get-away.
