Default Big bore on a budget?

I am tossing around a few ideas here of what to do next, if anything. What kind of "budget build" can I do on my 88"B. I just did cams a couple of weeks ago, SE 203. I don't know if a build would even really be worth it to me as I am quite happy with the results of the 203's.

What would you suggest on a $400 budget (I will do all the labor myself) Is it even worth it or should i wait until I can dump a grand or two into it? I know, everyone has their opinion, so let's hear them.

Maybe some head work? Bigger valves, Porting polishing and shaving. Would help the cam breath a little better. And a small boost in compression is always good for for the cam. May get out of control real quick though on the costs

I want more low end torque mainly. Will bigger cylinders and pistons help this more, or what you ahve mentioned above? I don't know too much about this yet.

well you can p/u 95 piston set for around 245.00 depending if ya go flat top or dome, forged or cast pistons, wount cost to much to punch out your jugs and ya might have enough to do a little head work too...
OR if ya want ta keep stock pistons and jugs you can
Buy the RevTech big bore kit for around 650.00 and its all ya need if ya want revtech heeheehee.....

Go with forged pistons and going 9.25:1 or 10.5:1 is up to you....

I'd prefer not to bump my compression as I am under the impression that will lessen the life of my motor. Please let me know if I am misinformed. What about these axtell kits?
http://www.axtellsales.com/ A bit out of range right now, but in a couple of months maybe. So how does the se kit like this measure up? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/HARLE...Q5fAccessories

And if someone could explain what upping my cc's will do as opposed to head work and bigger valves please. Like I said, I need to be educated.

I don't know but, I have always like keeping everything stock when it come to performance. I leave it up to the performance and styling engineers to keep my content. A person can only go so fast and live. Just my 2cents.

I am just trying to get an education here. I am aware I do not need to go any faster. I had my rice rocket days and managed to escape unscathed. But...it is always good to have options. And after doing new cams and seeing how simple it was I have realized I can do this myself too. Thanks for the responses so far.
