Get ready! A challenger for the EG/Ultra
#22
I do think it looks better than the Victory Vision. It is a rip off of the Ultra but they know that is what sells in the US. Look at other top Jap cruiser bikes in the US, all very similar to an HD model that was around before it. I've owned Kawi's before and they are generally mechanically sound, personally after seeing one of these at the IMC I think the rest of the bike is less than good.
I won't be buying one but you know there is a market for it.

I saw and sat on that bike at the International Motorcycle Show last Nov. It is very cheaply made and "plasticy", if that's even a word. I opened one of the saddle bags and was really surprised how cheap and flimsy the bags and hinges are. I don't think they will last long before you would have the top of the hard bag just come off in your hand.
Still, the Voyager is a lot of bike for the price. I'm thinking Harley is safe, but it will draw off some of the Gold Wing trade.

Been out for awhile - seen a couple driving around town. Died in the wool Kawi owners have been crying for a long time for a proper touring bike so I'm sure they will be happy. If you want one, fill your boots - I'm sure you will be happy.
As far as a mass exodus from Harley's, don't hold your breath. I'm sure the odd one will move over to the Kawi, just like the odd one moves over to a Gold Wing or (God forbid) a Victory Vision and, the odd one moves back to HD. It'll all work out in the wash and most who have or want a Harley won't change.
