Default Riding in the Heat

It was 107 degrees in Central Texas yesterday and will be at least that today. I took a short ride and now I know what meals prepared in a convection oven feel like. I used the military version of the phase changing neck wrap that I had used very successfully in the desert. Didn't work very well here, the humidity was to high I guess. Has anyone found anything short of four wheels with A/C that helps keep you cool?
I will still ride despite the heat just trying to stay a little bit more comfortable if possible.

What I was told to do by someone that rides in the heat is to wet your shirt down, put a jacket on top of it. Somehow it keeps you cool until the shirt drys. Then you rewet it again.
I have not tried it, but wish I knew about it when we were riding back last year from Sturgis. Hey it can not hurt, worth a try.

Wear a mesh jacket (yes, it is really cooler when moving than not having one on), sunscreen, and hydrate, hydrate, hydrate.
