Another reason some don't wave
I ride to work with a co-worker. He rides a 650 Yamaha V-Twin. He wears a full face helmet. I wear a do-rag. Obviously he values his head more than I do mine. I noticed he does not wave at other cyclists. As I wave at all. The reason is he does not see them. With a full face helmet he has tunnel vision. He can only see what is directly in front of him.(Or maybe he really is an *******). His helmet may save his life someday. Whereas my do-rag will not. That is each of ours choice. When it is time to go that is it. I feel at least I will have experienced the full sensation of riding a motorcycle. A fool I may be. I wave.

Maybe he doesn't know to wave....
My neighbor rides a soft-tail heritage... real good guy..... but I noticed, he NEVER waves, or returns waves. Some folks do, some don't.... I wave, whether my wave is returned is of no concern to me.

I wear a full face 99% of the time. The only peripheral part of my vision that is blocked is the bottom part. For example: I cant see my knees when riding.
The guy is making stuff up.
I vote he is an *** or he is too scared to take his hand off the bar to wave.

I think he just does not wave you can see other coming at you and waving with a full Face. If he has true tunnel vision with his helmet I think he needs to invest in a new one.

DOT requires a 230 degree field of vision on all helmets, regardless of type. Unless your buddy's eyes are on the back of his head, he can see just as much as you with your doorag.
