The next trend in motorcycles

HHHMMM ...
Less is more ..
Harleys cost too much ?? Always have , is a fact there , well cost more than the percieved competition .. Buying a name ?? yeah , but its also keeping the value of your purchase up , a well as the value of the company ..
Competition ?? They copy Harleys models and try to market to the same crowds ..
So a Harley costs say $15000 , the equivalent copycat jap bike costs half that , and in five years the Harley is still worth 70% or better of its purchase price , and the copycat is worth what ??
Can you find parts for an obsolete foreign model after its discontinued ??
I have three Harleys over thirty years old , still on the road and still able to find parts for them ...
Trends , lighter and cheeper ?? Good , great , and I'll keep riding my Harleys ..

Agreed. pretty cool and true. Don't even think I have $11k in my bike yet after pipes and AC and a few other upgrades. Just gotta look around for the right deals.

I agree that there are emerging trends in motorcycles, like "less is more" and "black is the new chrome." However, I do not think that these trends are replacing any current trends. I believe that the number of people riding a bike has increased dramatically over the last 10 years which makes room for more types of motorcycles. Big Bear and Kuryakyn aren't going out of business anytime soon so there is still a large market for choppers and chrome as well as a market for bobbers and powdercoat. I like it, more choices.
I also agree with a previous post, I am 26. All my friends ride HDs. The younger crowd is fully aware of HD.
In my opinion, with the increased number of people riding, there is room for a little bit of everything.

Guy you are dreaming,If they can get the heart ,sound power and torque a Harley has out of some quiet little whizzer that gos 100 miles an hour fine but not for me! You'll have to have a tape of a harley playing on an ipod for the sound!
