Default Fat Bob v Stree Bob

I am getting a bit closer narrowing my choice of Harley. While the final test ride for both is mandatory, but I want to hear others about:

1. their views on these two machines?
2. which one is best bang for your money?

Also:
1. I love the look of Fat Bob exhaust. just wonder if I can swap into Street Bob.
2. I like the handle bar of Street Bob and the mid control since i am short rider.

TIA for your input.
Cheers

own a streetbob 20007 model i love it and don't think you'd be dissappointed by either model
having said that had the fatbob been out when i bought my streetbob i would have given it serios consideration

although bang for the buck i think the streetbob has the fatbob beat

I'm sure the Fat Bob exhaust would fit on a Street Bob. You can also get mid controls on the Fat Bob.

I personally have Fat Bob and love it. I prefer the beefier look over the Street Bob. Like, freebyrd said, I'm sure you'll be happy with either.

Having ridden both, the only thing i can tell you is that it all boils down to your personal opinion on looks.

As mentioned, you could probably swap the exhaust onto the street bob. You can also do mids.

I liked the spartan look of the street bob, but actually prefer the bars on the fat bob. Going to swap out the bars on the street bob, but chop the rear fender.

Cant go wrong with either one.

Fat Bob.

I've demoed both and prefer the handling and styling of the Fat Bob.

Gentlemen, thanks for your input. The question about swapping Fat Bob exhaust into Street Bob, my concern the mid control of SB may pose a problem. Can anyone confirm this?

I've got an '09 Street Bob and love it. I do NOT like the mid controls, but I'm 5'11". I like the dual headlight setup on the Fat Bob, but don't really like the solid wheels much. I don't care what the stock exhaust on either bike looks like because that'd be the first thing to go. You'd probably be equally happy with either bike, but the Street Bob is considerably (to me) less expensive so... Enjoy whichever one you decide on and ride safe.

Maybe, maybe not. If you are into say, 2 actual disk brakes up front on a big Harley for a little better braking capability, then the best bang for the buck of the 2 bikes would be the Fat Bob.

BTW, the mid controls are great as well, if you are in to being in a position to control the bike somewhat aggressively. Love my mids for that and have the forward hiway pegs to stretch out. The bike can be shifted and rear braked from the hiway pegs. Nice to have 2 places to put your feet when traveling.

Not everyone rides a bike like you do, Steve. The single disc up front is (in my opinion) plenty for "moderate riding" and even for the occasional panic stop. And you can upgrade the stock pads to give at least a little better braking capability for well under $100. Don't get me wrong. I wish my Street Bob had dual discs up front, but knowing what I do now about how well my brakes work, I would not have changed my mind and bought the Fat Bob instead when I made my purchase.
