Bah Austin cop at rally....
Was at the ROT rally in Austin this weekend and a cop pulls up beside me and tells me my brake light is way to bright and cant be blinking or as he put it a "Strobe light". Only emergency vehicles can have that , he tells me that he should write me a ticket for it. Well i told him its a brandnew bike and came off the showroom floor with it , he sad HD doesnt care about selling legal bikes. I knew he didnt care but i said it anyway
First thing i thought of was hmmm wtf so me being seen better than anyone else in among 1000 drunk people is bad? Then my 2nd thought was dude STFU and leave me alone asswipe
Just thought i should vent to you guys
BTW my tailight is a Brightasslight BAL-1

I noticed a few of them looked like they were under paid and having to drink lemon juice straight. Several were friendly but ROT is a long hot rally for Leo's. No shade, lots of loud traffic and crowds.

First, if he didnt give you a ticket F'em
If he did F'em anyway.
I dont think he is right BTW, think thet would be illegal if it was red blinking light on the front.

I can't believe that harley would sell a bike that would not pass inspection! That said, I am not a big fan of the blinking lights. I always think there is an emergency vehicle behind me when I see them.HMM, I guess that only applies to the front blinking head lights
What about the "back off" lights that only blink when the brake is applied?
BTW- I agree with your second thought!

Guess you should brush up on local laws before you travel. Shame you didn't call him an asswipe to his face though. That news story would have been good reading.

I got stopped in Seattle back in the 80's for the same thing so I think the Cop was probably right. If he didn't write you a ticket I'd be glad, not pissed. But hey...that's just the way I see it. Don't mean I'm right.

I guess it probably would be if they have a law that says you can't tap your brakes.
