Does anyone here know of or recommend a good indy shop in Southest Michigan? Preferably between say Livonia and Ann Arbor. The labor rates at the dealers are outrageous and I'd rather take my bike to someone who may actually care about what he's working on.

Bishop Performance, 26448 Grand River, Redford, MI 48240 (313) 537-5026. They did both my stage ones. Half the price of the dealership, done quick and on time.

Dunno if Brighton is too far a haul but Steve at Harrison's Motorcycle Service (used to be called Full Throttle) is great. I brought my Heritage in Saturday morning with the promise he's have it looked at no later than Monday or Tuesday. Saturday night at 9:15 I get a call form Steve- bike's done!
When I dropped the bike off, I told Steve what it was doing, and he told me exactly how he was going to start and diagnose the problem and when he called he recommended a couple of other things which I'm having him do.. so far very impressed.

Heck buy the service manual and do it yourself. Nothing more than changing all three fluids, lube the forks, check the belt, and look for loose bolts. If you can do the stage one including reprogramming the computer, the service should be easy. I'm surprised the indies aren't a lot cheaper but I'm sure they do a better job.
