You could drain and remove the tank.Place some BB's in there along with some type of degreaser,solvent or carb cleaner.
Put the cap on and shake the hell out of the tank.Repeat until the junk stops coming out.
Remove the petcock then rinse the inside of tank with gas or carb cleaner.Disasemble the petcock and clean it.Use compressed air to blow out screen.Replace inline filter.
