Heritage turn signal adjustment.....

Heritage turn signal adjustment.....
I need to adjust the turn signals a little forward so I can fit wind deflectors to the windshield mounting bolts. The deflectors can't clear the signals without force. Looks like a royal pain as I can't figure how adjust the signals. Anyone? TIA.
Did a search & many have had the same problem & tilted the signals so I know it can be done. Just can't find thread with the answer.

You need a cut away 9/16 socket to loosen the locknut. This locknut is accessed by removing the turn signal lamp lower assembly with an allen wrench. You need the cut away socket because there's a wire running through the stud that feeds down from the running light. Once the nut is loose you can move the turn signal assy and the attached running light as a unit and then re-tighten the nut. I wouldn't loosen the nut too much, just enough to swivel it with moderate force. It's much easier to work with this way. You can use a cheap 3/8 drive 9/16 deep socket and grind a notch in it enough to accomodate the wire.

To honest with you, I haven't tried that.. Give it a go and see if you can get the connector out and stuffed wire and all in the socket.. If it works make sure you post it..
