Have you changed passengers?

Best trick I know is to keep your visual horizon very high as you are coming to a stop. Focus WAY out in front, trees 1/4 mile away or something. Your peripheal vision will take care of the close stuff, but the long focus will prevent you from overcorrecting all the small movements as you slow and stop. If you just try it a few times, you will probably be very surprised. And the same techniques work great on all low speed stuff, look where you WANT to go, and keep your eyes HIGH.

Alot of good advice..Thanks. In response to the comments by a few of you, it is my same riding partner for 30 years and all of it was spent on the back of one sort of motorcycle or another. That is why it does not make sense why all of a sudden this is becoming an issue. Quite unsettling and embarrassing to say the least . Hopefully I will get a handle on this and move on.

Good point. I'd never stop riding her!

Maybe she needs a bigger seat. Let her drive and you ride.

Having a passenger on the back makes the front end lighter. Use the front brake when stopping to help shift a little more weight up there and stabilize the bike.

good info for you.. The other problem might be that your rider need to make sure they are centered on the bike as you are stopping. It helps. they are your riding partner and what they do can really affect how well you handle the stops and starts. I have seen passengers after the bike was stopped. Turn around sort of and try to talk to someone on another bike.. the guy was not expecting it, ....over they went. some of these bikes (especially touring bikes) you seem to be sitting up on top of more than into the bike. Takes a bit more to keep the stable at slow speeds.
