Default power commander question

I bought my 04 road king classic a few months back, and the bike was a repo so when i bought it the guy selling it to me could tell me very little about it, anyways i was thinking about purchasing a power commander for it, but with me not knowing anything that has been done to the bike would it even be worth purchasing, or could a dyno tell me what would be the right map for my bike?

If you have a power commander on the bike chances are it has been tuned at least a little for the bike. A dyno would be a good way of getting it dialed in, that is for sure. Do you know what kind of pipes and air cleaner you have on the bike? The size of the motor? The dynojet site has a tone of maps for bikes with different combinations.

If you don't know for sure you'd be guessing and the mapping will be incorrect. I would still put in a PCIII and a breather kit if it doesn't already have one, but I would also spend the extra money on the dyno so you get it mapped right.

Install the power commander then have a dyno done. Custom map will be built for max performance no matter what mods have been done.
