When I take my Windvest shield off, the difference is that the wind against my face is smooth rather than being a bit turbulent, but the actual quantity of wind is pretty similar. Biggest difference is the amount of crap hitting my face. In general, I like the feel better with the shield off....in between bug strikes. Every time I get hit in the face by a big bug, though, I wish the shield was back on!
