Question No Wheel Weights/Balancing??

Why is it that bikes come from the factory with no wheel weights, but when you get new tires etc... they put them on? Is there something that the factory can do that dealers can't as far as balance?

I just hate the look of the weights is all.

Cant answer yuh about the factory, but Dyna Beads will get rid of your weights.

I put mine in a couple clicks ago and I love em. They smoothed the bike right out.

H'mmm, my wheels and tires were balanced from the factory when I got our '06, and the brand new '07 take off StreetGlide rims I bought on eBay also had wheel weights on them.

RideOn will also balance your tires, and help prevent flats.

+1 on the Dyna Beads, and no, the name has nothing to do with the HD model Dyna. Installed them in my tires about 5,000 miles ago and they are doing the job just fine.

Another one for Dyna Beads. I started using them when I changed my rear tire last fall. Easy to use, ride is smooth, and you do it yourself in about 2 minutes..

Can the Dyna beads be used in a tube? I have that Skinny 21 " on the front and it has a tube in it.

I don't remember if my original set had weights or not. I use Michelins and I have had some that did not need any weights. The Michelins that I run (PR2's) don't have the "balance mark" on the tire. Some tires have a "balance mark" that is supposed to be placed at the valve stem. I wonder how many of the tire changers at a dealership even know what a 'balance mark' is?
