question on helmets
#31
tip: the full-face helmets with the lip on the back have low drag characteristics. they wont wear your neck out like other helmets. don't skimp on your full face helmet. get a good one. cheap ones aren't comfortable, aerodynamic, or cool.

So what you ride like 10, maybe 15 days a year without snowmobile suits??? Since you can only imitiate being an American rider on an American motorcycle, I think you oughta show more respect for all of us that truly are HARLEY RIDERS.
Canadians... just like kids. Better seen but not heard. So don't reply, just post some pics of your finest table dancers. (ah Windsor!)

Vancouver isn't really the North. The weather is a heck of a lot better than a lot of places in the US. Sure, it's Canada, but if you can ride year round, I don't think you qualify as a true northerner.
I'm much more north than you, and wear a full-face and half helmet about equally, depending on the ride and the weather.

Your half helmet needs to sit just above your eyebrows and ears. I have a huge melon and although I can find half helmets that sit comfortably on my head I can't find one that sits low on the brow and ears...thus they all slide back on my head and are useless. I'm hoping a Seer helmet will be the answer.

Bobbernet was right on the money re fit (pg3). You'll 'know' only after trying a bunch of them without bias towards price/color/brand. I also picked up an HCI Carbon polo which felt right immediately. I got it from the HD dealer (my dealer is open 7 days which I appreciate) but it can be found elsewhere as well. The HCI in 'large' fit my head, which is a little narrow, very well without needing any adjustments. I measure 59cm, which is the same as one of my friends but he can't use the same helmet due to drastically different shaped heads. I rode VFR's for 10 years with a Shoei RF200 in 'large' ( 7 3/8's) which was perfect with a thick sweat rag, though hot, minimally effective venting. Next helmet will be a carbon Fiber full face for highway use. Ventilation and low noise will be my key criteria. Maybe an HCI CF full face?
