Fixing a torn seat with a bicycle patch kit?
I recently put a small tear into my seat. Not a big rip or a big deal but I do want to fix it. I am wondering if a bicycle tire patch would be a good fix. The only issue would be that tires are rubber and seats are leather. I don't know if the patch would bond to the leather. Has anyone tried this yet?

If it's a factory seat I think it's vinyl, if so a rubber adhesive won't stick very well, get a vinyl repair kit and glue the patch on the inside of the seat for strength then fill the small gap with the vinyl adhesive.
If it is leather, crazy-glue makes a leather adhesive.

I have never found a repair for a vinyl seat that didn't look worse than the original tear. Give it a while to see if you can live with it. If you can't, take it to an upholstery shop for recovering, or look for a different seat.
