Stage 1 - but back to original pipes
As I posted earlier, I had to take my beloved SEII slip-ons off of my bike due to a hole which rotted through the neck. I have a complete Stage 1, including Harley download on my 05 Road King Classic. I guess I'm one of the lucky ones, because since the upgrade it has always ran strong with no problems.
Anyway, while I am waiting for my new pipes to come in, I re-installed my stock pipes so I could ride if the opportunity arose.
Tonight I rode the bike about 125 miles, round trip, to meet my daughter. The bike lost all the snap and power of the Stage 1 with the stock mufflers re-installed. I can't believe how just that simple change emasculated the bike's performance. So, not only does it sound like crap, but it has no nads. It's unreal how closely each component is tied into performance on these bikes.
I can't wait for the new SEII's to arrive so I can have my old bike back!
