Default 2 new tires installed, $180.00, WTF?

brought my 2 new metzlers into Iron Eagle in w.p.b.. said it took them 1.8 hours to put on and they also gave me a new front tire inner tube and rim band. i also got hooked with a 10 dollar shop fee. I guess that is to pay for their breaks. thought it might cost me around 100.00. only reason i brought it in was cuz my back axle was stuck and i did not want to bugger it up. hell, i could have beat it out with a ball pean hammer and bought 4 new axles and nuts for that price.

I think thats a good price for both tires installed. My stealer charges $65 just to mount and balance a tire.

My rear axle was stuck too. I had to buy a new one for $40. still cost another $40 for mounting and balancing, for just the rear tire. I bet it cost you more in shop time to remove the axle than a new one would of cost.

If you have to beat the axle out make sure your wheel bearings are checked carefully every time you have the wheel off.

I always remove my wheels and take them to the shop which saves money and also NEVER go to Harley for tires. I go to places like Road Rider or other indy's as they rarely charge more than $10 per tire for M&B.

Don't forget. The dealer fills them up with Harley air. That's worth $100 by itself.

I wish I could find a shop that does it for $10. here, it is by the hour charge, a little over half an hour, hourly rate $65. I cannot blame them, it cost them money to have the shop open.

LMAO That's a good one right there...

Now I know why it smells so good when I walk into the dealer! They must use that stuff in the showroom too.
