Didn't you ASK first????
Most shops around here charge $65 per wheel (on the bike) less if you just bring in the wheel, and tire

I only use Amsoil Synthetic Air. Don’t use that HD SE crap, it comes from Venezuela.
Actually the best thing I have done is invested in my own equipment. Spend about $150 max and it has way paid for its self between my own tires and my friends.

Dealer here has free mounting and balancing for tires bought from them, but they have to be on the bike. Can't just bring in the old and have them put on the new. Helluva deal if you ask me...

Second that. 3 irons, 2 6" C clamps, some bead lubricant and you're good to go. DIY guarantees no nasty surprises from dealers or indys.

Is it true that if you don't get the Harley air they will void your warranty and make you wear fingerless gloves?

a local indy here charges $25 to mount and balance tires if you bring the loose wheels. Same price for labor if you buy his tires or bring your own. About the best deal going in my area. Local stealer charges 1.5 hours per tire on the bike, .5 per tire if off the bike. Labor is $89 per hour.

It just is not very difficult to do your own tire mounting. I do my own for many years now. A $80 motorcycle floor jack, two tire irons and some rubber lube to ease the job. It takes me one hour per tire. I'm old and slow. I index the tire and more often than not balancing is not required.

I just can't accept paying a labor fee of $100/hr for what is just that labor not technical work work like engine rebuilding.

I priced a new set at the dealer installed and they wanted $500 total with tax. I bought the same tires shipped free and no sales tax for $235 on the internet. That's a huge savings.

There is very little that I ever need a dealer to do. Just safety recalls and warranty work if any. On my Buell I just did a safety recall myself that was easier than setting up an appointment and dropping off the bike for a day or two. The windshield on the Ulysess was installed wrong. It needed some fasteners and I found that I had the proper size in my parts bin so I did it. Didn't save mone but I save a 80 mile round trip with my wife following me to pick me up then returning in two days and following me home for another 80 miles on the car and bike.

Were the tires purchased at the dealership or did you buy them elsewhere and then bring them in to have mounted?
