If anyone is interested in completing an IronButt (saddlesore 1000), we have an IBA sanctioned ride June 12-13 leaving from Lansing, MI. This is the easiest way to get the ride verified. We have an IBA ridemaster organizing the event. All you need to do is pay the fee, ride the predetermined route and collect the required reciepts. We document and witness the departure and arrival, submit all paperwork and present you with your award at a banquet in late summer (date yet TBD). Hoping to do one this summer myself, wish you guys were closer. imaging it would be a lot more fun with a group of riders

 

I'm near Gettysburg and want to do a Saddlesore 1000 this summer. Want to set up a Central PA ride? Maybe late July, early August?

Circling the Mitten sounds fun but................

I'd rather take a week or two so to soak it in.

Circled Lake Mich in 3 days a few yrs back, felt rushed , like to do it again only 7-10 days this time.

Guess I'm not cut out for an Iron butt ... Oh Well.... Ride Safe .

Yea, an iron butt definately is not a scenic tour, more of a personal challenge. You are either into it or not, most people not.

I'll do my scenic tour in Aug and take 2 weeks to explore SD and points beyond.

As far as the post that said were posers, WHATEVER. I think of a poser as someone who buys a new bike, all the latest riding gear and rides 5 miles to the weekly bike night on the patio

I am in the process of planning a ride for the saddlesore 1000. circling the mitten sound fun, but It is a little to far to get there. I am trying to get a few friends to all do this at the same time. any advise?
