Hopefully, a trained traffic homicide investigator responded and interviewed her.

Even without that, the physical evidence at the scene, and possible witness statements would be enough to move forward with prosecution. In any case, she's gonna' get hammered on the civil side.
True. If she came up to him and just blurted out that was what she was doing. However, if he was asking her questions pertaining to the accident investigation and she told him that without being mirandized, there could be a problem.

I rode throgh that intersection twice that day, as I do regularly. WoW, this sucks and I'm pissed. Either way, I'm joining the ride-in.

i guess it was a life or death situation that she just HAD to do her nails while driving! i'm surprised she didn't throw a pedicure in for the hell of it! the bottom line is that that woman needs stiff punishment for her actions and i also think she should tell the victim's entire family that she was doing her nails at the time of the accident. let's see how she good she feels after doing that!

Of course no amount of punishment, criminal or civil, will bring her back. That being said, I hope she gets what is just for this crime, enough to make her regret what she did every day for the rest of her life.

"At this point she is really distressed. There are some things she remembers and some things she doesn't - she is distraught over this," Freitag told ABC 7.
oh well, if she's really distraught then that makes it okay, thats enough punishment for her.

since she feels that she is able to multitask so well that she doesn't have to pay attention while driving, i say she gets blindfolded and told to cross a busy freeway during rush hour, maybe she'll learn to really pay attention then....

So while she was being questioned at the scene, was she still applying her makeup?
That is so much in disregard for human life.
