WOW!
1- glad you are ok physically.
2- bummer for the deer and its family.
3- seems if 3 Harley dealers say its totalled, then it is.
4- really hope this don't stretch on for months with insurance company.
Here in western Oregon we live with like a bazillion deer and it is a constant thought that you try to not think about.

glad you made it good work staying up. if you want to keep the bike have them replace the frame. they did it on mine when i was hit from behind.and if you has insurance that would would cover the extra's then make them do it.alot of time's when they total something out it's there way of getting by cheaper.best of luck hang in there

man glad to hear you are ok. i live in the country and my rides at 4 in the morning going home after work can get real slow sometimes cause they can just dart out from nowhere sometimes. im a diehard bowhunter and knowing how heavy some of them can get had to be heart stopper for you when it got into your bike. the bike can be replaced but you cant and im really glad to hear your ok.

1st glad your ok. ive seen 1st hand bike vs dear accidents. bike should be totaled, sorry. dont let them screw around. in ma. we have a little known mass general law, that basicly give us the right to a speedy and timely settlement. ive had to use it on a car. as soon as resited the law i had a check within three days, after messing with them for 7 weeks. check your laws. and if they settle less then you think its wourth talk to there manager. its a game. the more you bitch sometimes the more you get. it worked for me. good luck.

Glade to hear your skill and luck kept you pretty much unharmed. As far as the frame I have the exact same damage from my accident in March tab in the down tubes where the top of the engine guard mounts is bent, dealer and dairyland insurance say the frame needs to be replaced no questions.

Any frame damage seems to result in a "TOTAL" by the insurance companies. Not sure exactly why that is - maybe liability issues for whoever does the repairs. Maybe I was a little stupid as a kid, but I used to take torches to the frames and straighten them on a regular basis. My bikes probably had more miles sliding/bouncing down the road than they did with the rubber side down. My old man and I would tear the bikes apart, straighten what was bent, weld up what was broken, and put it back together. Like I said - maybe we were stupid, but we always got away with it.
