What would you call that job, "bike sitter", "bike nanny", I've heard of house sitters, but if he rode for 15 years it must have been bicycles, or else I'd think he'd know better.

When I went to 'nam, I gave my 47 Pontiac 2-door Business Coupe to my brother to keep for me. When I came home 18 months later, it wasn't in the garage. I asked where it was and he said 6 months before, he had changed the oil and forgot to replace the drain plug when he was done. Took it on the highway and seized the engine up. He had it towed to a repair shop/gas station next to the highway and left it in back. I went to look it over and it had been the target of vandals who had busted all the glass and thrown big rocks at the body. I almost cried. My bro steered clear of me for a year.

Sad to hear that our military men and women would have to give up their property when they are already giving up so much else.
They don't have to give up their property. I good friend of mine (posted about his RK he bought for cheap) . Was just deployed to Iraq. He did not sell his bike. Cleaned out the space in the garage, did the maintenance things for storage and covered it.

Why would you think they have to sell their stuff ?

The Army will store the stuff for you. My son took his 05 Ram to germany w/him.
He was then deployed to Iraq[2nd] tour. The Army puts the truck/bike/all belongins
into storage until his return. Now how safe it is in storage is another issue.
Same rule if your state side.
