All non DOT lighting in Michigan can only be used when parked and not on a public road. Blue is for LEO only and blue in and direction will get you stopped and maybe impounded.

Not sure exactly of the legality but it certainly is not enforced around Las Vegas.
I see all types of colored lights on moving bikes including blue lights either in or near the brake lights. It certainly gets your attention and tends to keep people away from you. I've run up behind several bikes around town and slowed down until I realized it wasn't a Police Officer.

So basically, it all depends on what state you live in. In PA, the cops use both red & blue, fire & ambulance use red and the fire police & fireman use only blue.
I also understand that PA changed the law to allow it on motorcycles for added visibility. Nothing in the law states anything about what color can or cant be used.
§ 4310. Motorcycle lighting.
Auxiliary lighting may be added to a motorcycle to protect
the driver, including blue dot illumination, standard bulb
running lights and light-emitting diode (LED) pods and strips.

My riding buddy got pulled over here in Florida when we were coming back from bike night...the cop cited him for having blue lights (LEDs around the engine, air cleaner, etc).
