But I think it is one of the things that if done improperly "May result in death or serious injury" according to the service manual.

Nah, that's the silver button on the left side of the fairing on Touring models that does that.

05's and newer....
It worked on my 03 Lowrider as well. I took it in for it's 5k service, and the tech making the rounds hit the button to check the mileage. Pretty cool stuff!

I found something by mistake today and thought I would pass it on, you never know, you may not have discovered it.

Press the trip reset button when the ignition is off and the odometer switches on for 5 seconds.
Your just kidding us, right.
