Here in Illinois we have the choice. I wear one about 99% of the time.
When I ride without it seems like I have forgotten something and its just not right. Something like a security blanket I guess. I just feel exposed when I dont have it. Its all about the freedom of choice. I would rather wear it.
Congrats MikeM

I,ve been ridin for over 20 years, wore a lid about 10 times in all those years of riding, had couple of wrecks but still don't wear one,if I have to wear it all the time I might as well stay in a cage.Just the way I feel.

I will never ride and feel the need to protect myself IF I go down. Nor will i put big rubber bumpers on my car to protect from bumps. I do not wear a helmet walking down the street as i do not plan on getting hit by a car BUT it could happen!! Everyone that wants to great do whatever you want I will be the last to tell you not to.Remember i will not tell you to or not to Please dont tell me to or not to wear

Our local ABATE has a helmetless run every year, it is a huge turn out! I like riding without one but If I had the choice I'd usually have it on. Even if it's not a legal one it offers some protection. It's nice to ride without a helmet but (if/when) you go down you'll be glad you had it on!!
