Default Argh

Haven't ridden in two weeks due to tendonitis / carpal tunnel in my left hand.

It's driving me up the freakin wall, so I thought I'd whine about it here and let the resulting flames distract me from the nice weather outside that I'm *not* ridding the Road King in.

Anyone know if anyone makes a wrist brace with the MoCo logo?

I think I saw one with a Kawasaki logo on it.. but don't wear it on your bike because that guy in the other thread about mixing metric/hd gear/bikes head will explode if you do.

On a real note, I started getting CT in my throttle hand and went to see the doc and after some exercises and re-adjusting my wrist position is hasn't bothered me in a while, good luck with that, that tingling / numbing sensation is not pleasant.

I'd have to say no on the MoCo, but if wrist braces are what your after then your local boardshop, skate or snow, will have various types of wrist guards, some more flexible than others. If you need one with a brace, than you will just have to get used to throttling with your thumb and index finger and not twisting your wrist so much. Oh what we will endure not to miss a ride.

I was kidding about the MoCo logo

It's my left hand, and right now even ignoring the pain, I don't have the grip strength to pull in the clutch. So I'm hosed.

I've had CT surgery on my left hand and it now doesn't bother me much at all...but I did have a miserable 6 months at work as I drove a fork truck and used the left hand for the steering wheel. This was about 10 yrs ago.

On the bike I wear lightweight gloves in the summer which tends to kill some of the vibration...When the weather is cooler I put WinterSilk glove liners under the gloves. They cost about 6 or $7 a pr. That helps me a little too.

I also changed the grips to Kury ISO-Grips with the throttle rocker I think it is called. My right hand sometimes falls asleep and I can use the throttle rocker to stretch my hand out some.

CT is a real pita. Hope you get well soon. It sucks being in pain.

...I'd start using your right hand until healed, then trade off every other day.

I had ct bilateral surgery done about two years ago. It isn't a big deal anymore for the surgery....only advice I'ld make is not get both hands done at the same time.....kinda makes lifes essentials(bathroom for example) a little challenging.

+1 on the Kuryakyn throttle rocker/boss. I've noticed that with the throttle rocker in the right position, it pretty much forces you to maintain a neutral wrist position while at cruising speed.

Of course, this bends your wrist up more when decelerating, but I'd rather bend my wrist up for brief periods of time than maintain it at a low angle the majority of the time.
