A big, resounding BINGO!. You hit the nail right on the head.

I never cease to be amazed at how all the self-righteous, holier-than-thou types jump at every stretch they can to hammer those of us who choose to exercise our legal rights. THEY have a better idea. Yeah, right.

The tired, old diatribe of "Well, I'm not paying your medical bills if you crash and you weren't wearing a helmet" doesn't wash. That very same argument can be made about nearly every medical insurance claim paid for injuries sustained from ANYTHING, and of course, it's absurd. That's the reason insurance exists.

I just wish people would stay the hell outta' my business. It really IS that simple.

Not yet. Seems he's in a fight with MODOT (Missouri Department of Transportation) over the deal now.

Pretty good read here:

As of last week the governor had not yet signed the Bill.

The below is from a recent news release (June 22nd I believe);

"The bill waits for the governor's action and even if he had signed it already it would be august before going leaving the helmet off would be legal. If Governor Nixon doesn't veto nor sign it, then the bill would automatically become law July 14th. It would be by the end of August before it would take effect. So until then the debate continues and for the time being, so does having to have a helmet on."

Personally Hope MO stays freedom of choice ... Even if I wore a Helmet 100% of the time, still support Riders choice not politicians choice...

That's disgusting on the part of the MoDOT. Not that ours is any better, damn people trying to be everyone's mom and telling them how to be safe. Just butt out of other people's lives.
