OABoater, one thing about these type posts is they tend to bring out the clueless. If someone doesn't know the history of the sport, and doesn't care to learn any of it, then why wade into a thread and let everyone know "I don't care about this or that..."?

I guess what OAB was getting at is that alot of people seem to forget the history of motorcycling. If you ever get a chance to read up on some of the 1%ers, do so as there is some good reading. Make sure it is a real true book though.

There are some out there who need to get a clue about what goes on outside of their little bubble. Im not saying that you need to join in with any 1% or any club for that matter but you guys (you know who you are) need to be aware of the history and real world or you may be unpleasantly surprised some night. Im just sayin.

You are correct in that everybody has to learn sometime. The issue is some don't want to learn, they are "Above" all this! Know what I mean!

True that...the only thing I find more pitiful than someone being woefully ignorant about a subject is someone who pipes up and let's everyone know that they're happy and proud to be ignorant on the subject...

As far as I'm concerned, if riding is a big part of your life, you are part of the motorcycling community. While I don't necessarily want to party with 1%ers, I respect them and don't mind sharing the road and the world with them. Frankly I'd rather be around people that really ride club or no than a bunch of "dudes" discussing the latest "custom" do-dad they just bolted on.
