That wasn't his intent. His intent was to show how relevant you are. Someone else will teach you a lesson some day.

Is this some sort of secret Harley rider insult? In all honesty, I really just joined this forum to learn more about this Harley I acquired recently. Never really fancied myself owning a Harley, as I am into the more sport oriented bikes, but purchased one on a whim because I thought it looked cool. You may say that sounds cheesey, but in the end that is good enough for me. I have taken more jokes and ribbing since I bought a Harley, from my friends and those that I normally ride with, than I thought I ever would. They all ask me if I am going to grow a ponytail and a scraggly beard infested with old food particales and start dressing like one of the Village people. Funny how the two theoretical sides view one another. Oh well, enjoy your bike/s in good health.
I doubt you own a Harley or even a metric cruiser. You seem more like a Vespa guy with your frosted tip hairdo, vintage t-shirts and being ironic.

Back on topic, whether you like it or not 1%er's are a part of the motorcycle community and have been for a long time. I find it interesting that people want to make blanket statements about them but ride a motorcyle who's image that 1%er's helped shaped and who helped stay in business when people either went metric or thought it wasn't socially acceptable to be a biker. People seem to like that outlaw image with blacked out parts and skulls all over their clothes, bikes and their ink.

At the very at least you should at least learn the basics about clubs simply so you don't come off looking like an idiot at public events. I've found that a friendly respectful attitude and not having a chip on your shoulder makes life a lot smoother but of course this being the internet everybody is a ninja and doesn't have to show an ounce of respect for anybody or anything.

The few encounters i've had with 1%er's were no big deal and they came across as regular folk, no BS what you see is what you get type of people. A friend of mine has a brother in a large 1% club and he isn't a criminal or a scary guy but he has helped a lot of people deal with drug and alcohol addiction and this club wanted him specifically because he's a good standup guy.

I wasn't aware that to own a motorcycle, especially a Harley, that anyone would ever expect me to conform to a lifestyle other than my own. I've been riding HD's for 25 years and have yet to encounter anyone, 1%ers or otherwise, that had any kind of issue with me or the bike I ride. The only time I've ever been spoken to in a manner other than polite was at a Chrismas toy run two years ago. Go figure, A CHRISTMAS TOY RUN. With 30,000 bikers in attendance, when we got the the convention center to drop off our toy, another biker in the parking lot made a negative remark about my boots. He seemed to have an issue with my dark brown knee high riding boots, which are similar to the Aggie boot. What his tiny, oil stained brain couldn't figure out was that my boots weren't Aggie boots at all, but custom made riding boots that I had made for me just for riding the bike. But he didn't look close enough to realize that. He only judged from a distance and made his beer infused remark behind my back. My riding buddy grabbed my arm and said to ignore the guy. So my response to him was no response. I find it interesting that after wearing those boots for 25 years only one person in all that time thought it was necessary to make a comment like "F*&K them F&*king Aggies and their brown F*&king boots". But what I found saddest and most disturbing about his comment was that, beyond his feelings about Tx A&M, it really cast a negative remark about our servicemen and specifically, US Army personnel. I'm well past my service years but like many Americans, I've got several young family members, 3 to be exact, in the US Army and they're all serving in Iraq so scumbags like that can have the freedom get drunk for breakfast and ride their half broken down old Harleys around town. People like that need to pack their *** off to the other side of the world with the rest of the M16'ers and get some damned humbling.

What does Texas A&M have to do with the military, specifically the Army?

Me thinx (only that) that he is referring to their Cadet Corps. They graduate several military officers from A&M, IF I understand things half fast correctly.
They have a deep history of graduating officers.
