Default Leather vest repair

can anything be done with the holes left in the vest when you remove a patch?
besides covering them with another patch?

Noting that looks good. Dead skin (Cow Skin) can't heal itself.

Tried many things, conditioner, saddle soap...you name it...nothing seems to work.

As stated from the leather shop that made my riding gear There is nothing that can repair holes. This is when I asked if they could let the seams out on my jacket.
