And even if the bike is new you will be required to have a smog inspection to register it in California.

Thanks for the reply. My bike was 1st sold in PA and when I took it to the DMV for inspection prior to getting new plates/tags, DMV did check the sticker on the downtube which indicated the bike met federal (not CA) emissions.
Bike has a 95" kit, cams, a/c, PCIII and V&H BSL....bringing it back to stock to pass smog is too painful to imagine.

Okay guys here is the latest scoop on SB435. It passed through the Transportation and Housing Committee by a vote of 7 to 3. It has been referred to the Appropriations Committee and was heard on 4/27/09. Currently, the bill is placed on the suspense file. If it clears this Committee it will be placed on the Senate floor for a final vote. It is not too late to get your letter of opposion to your Senator! If you haven't contacted your Senator yet, GET MOVING. If you have, send him/her another letter of opposition. If we don't get behind this now, we will be in serious crap within the next year.

The problem with California or better yet, my having lived here for the last 12 years is that I can't easily go anywhere else as if your resume says Cali on it they think you are a pot smoking, surfing lil candy *** liberal who is gonna take over their state...am so screwed by this state...can't even leave it...freakin Hotel California...
