Bye Bye Road Glide
#21
We stopped at a dealer in Colorado Springs while on a business trip last week. I asked them about this and they confirmed that it was true. I had my bike (09 Ultra) in my dealer the other day and asked them, they didn't know anything about it. We'll just have to wait and see.
I seriously looked at the Road Glide while I was investigating my purchase. If all this turns out to be true, I might be a little sorry I didn't go with the Road Glide. I rented one and did like the bike a lot but I also wanted the bells and whistles included on the Ultra and it just wasn't worth adding them to the RG after the fact. I know the RG isn't the most popular Harley, looks wise, but I think it's loss would be unfortunate. Many folks may not like the looks of the Shark fairing but there's still a loyal following for the bike. I think losing the choice would be a shame.

Unfortunately, it's not bullsh|t (at least in this instance). The RG is among several models (including the Dyna Low Rider) that is being discontinued in '10.

Love mine
Glad I bought one when I did. Even if this is untrue the moco has to fix some things most of us do not want to think about due to the changing world we live in. Like creating new customer sales from the younger generations so the company can survive. ie, xr1200 and why not a vrod bagger. jmho.
