In theory yes, if the 2007's are in the dealer is going to want to get rid of the 06's. I would think that you would be able to work a deal on one. I just bought an EGS for about 500 below MSRP at my dealership. Good luck...

When I bought my 06 there were a couple left over 05's sitting in the showroom. The 06 sold for MSRP, but the salesman said they would deal on the 05's.
When I questioned him about what a deal was, he said $1000 off sticker, that means $2000 to me. Only trouble, there were no leftovers that caught my eye, as I knew pretty much what I wanted.
Good luck in your new purchase

It's a lot different than buying other bikes...generally they don't have to offer amazing discounts because the bikes will sell. You might look for factory demo bikes if you're looking for a good buy...they generally have between 500 and 2500 miles, never titled so they're new but you can get great deals on those.

I don't know that I'd wait until the 07's just to get an 06 because theres lots of rumors of how they're changing them this year I'd wait and see what changes the MOCO goes through with and decide from there, thats my plan anyway

Go in someplace towards the end the July, right before the 07's start coming out, they are pushing out all the 06's to make room. usually the dealer will throw in extras, no setup fee's, HC got a $500 shopping allowance on HD motorcloths....not accessories.....etc

I have no idea but I would think that a dealer that moves more bikes than another dealer would probably be able to deal more. Does that make sense?
I have been in some dealerships that just do not move bikes... Either because of price or because their salesman are rude/obnoxious. And other dealers cannot keep stuff in stock for more than a day.
I have seen a lot of posts about people having to wait for bikes and stuff like that but around here our dealer moves stock pretty well and I don't know a lot of people that are waiting.
Heck... dealer had to wait for me. =)
I would think that if you have a dealer that can move stuff quick AND they still have 06s in when the 07s are on the floor... They would be more motivated to move teh 06.
Although in my personal experience they seem more motivated to deal on Sportsters more than anything. If you want a Sportster you are probably in luck.

My local dealer is already offering $500 gift card towards service, accessories, or apparel on all 06 Models!! They have over 75 bikes in stock. They don't charge prep, set-up, or any other crap, just MSRP.
