Seems to just crumble off on my finger tips if I rub it a little. Never had a problem.

Using a regular steel wire wheel on stainless will leave deposits of the steel in the wheel and will rust. you can buy a SSwire wheel at any welding shop. More critical if you do any TIG welding but just the same.....

I use a dremel tool with the wire wheel on it. Works great!

Brake cleaner and a rag works for me.
