Seems as though Wisconsin's democrat governor is trying to fix his budget deficit using methods that are detrimental to businesses like Harley. 47.6% tax rate for a company that employees thousands of people. Utterly ridiculous!

Income Tax Rate
The Company's first quarter effective income tax rate was 47.6 percent, compared to 36.0 percent in the same quarter last year. The increase was due to a recent and unanticipated change in Wisconsin tax law which resulted in the Company establishing a valuation allowance of $22.5 million related to net operating loss carry-forwards, as well as tax implications of MV Agusta, which the Company acquired in August 2008. The Company expects its full-year 2009 effective tax rate to be approximately 43.0 percent.

 

And, some folks wonder why companies are fleein overseas.

It is a reason why Kimberly-Clark moved their HQ from Appleton, WI to Dallas, TX...the horrible tax situation. Wisconsin had a loser governor back then, Tony Earl - Deathocrat, that tried to tax WI to prosperity. Thank goodness he was voted out and Tommy Thompson was voted in. Turned WI around, but he started getting liberal in his old age and now they have a tool in there now, Jim Doyle (the Rat) - Deathocrat, and he's royally f*cking up the state. They are going to have a $5.6 BILLION deficit...and they only have 5.6 million peeps in the state. Guess he is trying to catch up to Kalifornia.

Huge reason I left the dolts who voted for him to wallow in their poor decision and moved to Texas (~ $14B surplus). With no state income here in Texas...I went out a bought a Ducati Monster 900. You tell me which is better for the economy, buying a second motorcycle or giving it to the Rat?

 

Send them on. Harley will certainly be welcome in Texas.

 

Harley is not the ones paying the tax, every working man who buys a bike a bike this year is. If people saw raising corporate income tax for what it really is, a tax on the working class, politicians like this would be voted out of office.

 

We all pay when that happens. Lot of junk going on in the world right now.

 

When will the Politicians and Lawmakers, Elected officials. Smarten The F**K up. Maybe they want U.S. jobs to go South and West to Commumist China. How come they don't take a cut in pay or have give backs. Or realy look to cut spending. "Harley Davidson is American as Apple Pie."
