HD's effective rate is combine federal, foreign and state/local. The U.S. federal statutory rate is 35%. WI's stat top corporate rate is 7.9% and foreign rates can vary. The U.S. federal rate is at or very near the top for all industrialized nations. HD's effective rate in the mid 40's isn't just on account of Wisconsin. That said, no question the WI rate is high.

Yeah, and we don't have near as many crime problems or illegal immigrant problems as Kalifornia. We just have a governor that is currently more concerned with keeping us from being a right to carry state, and making sure that law enforcement can pull you over for not wearing a seatbelt (yeah, that's the latest coming from the capital here in Wisconsin!). Meanwhile we lost another business to Louisiana two weeks ago because they were wooed away by an active conservative governor. I can't believe my fellow citizens elected this doofus!
