Sometimes the Cheap Mundane Stuff Works
As in Turtle Wax chrome polish. Saw a couple of baggers with the shiniest and brightest chrome I have ever seen. Asked them what they use and they said just plain old common Turtle Wax Chrome Polish.
Got a bottle today for three dollars and some change and HOLY **** does it work good. It's amazing! Just goes to show that some of that expensive snake oil isn't any better than the Advance Auto Parts stuff.
For what it's worth........

I agree. I melted a pair of nylon wind pants onto my heat shields. Dealer said it wouldn't come off. My wife shrugged, sat down in the garage with a rag and the Turtle Wax Chrome Polish and in about 30 minutes it was all off.
Oh yeah, set of leather chaps on the way, wind pants in the garbage.

The stuff really is good. Now I need to get the bugs off after a ride in Dixie today. The bugs were really out....but not as many of them now, LOL!
Trivia question...What is the strongest overall solvent in the world? Answer....water. It gets the bug corpses off my bike real well after soaking them good. Riding sure is a lot of work, LOL!!
