"We're sold out...
...of that model," the dealer told us yesterday when we stopped by to really consider that black Ultra he had on the floor the week before. It was 5 pm and the store was closing but the showroom was full of people. The salesman told us it had been the busiest week he can remember in a long time. When the wife asked to see a Cross Bones she got the same answer..."Sorry, sold the last one of those we're going to get this year today".

Old Glory - but I haven't been to the other 3 around me yet. In a way, I'm happy to see the inventory move - maybe I'll get back some of my stock losses...

I was in our local dealership the other night and they had a LOT of used bikes where new ones used to be. I didn't know if it was a special sale on used inventory or what, but maybe they are down on their new bike inventory.

As others said, you'll need to check other dealers.
Dealers get their bikes on a "allocation" basis. Once they get their allocation of that model, they won't get anymore until the next model year.
That doesn't mean the next dealer down the road won't have 4 of them sitting on his floor though.
Some dealers are selling bikes much faster than other dealers.
And then of course, there are the dealers out there that will tell you they ain't getting anymore of that model, just to try and get you to "bite" on something they have on the floor right now.

Check other dealers but if you remember the press release from HD month or two ago they said they were going to over ship compared to last year in the first quarter then after that they were going to cut production and shipping to dealers by about 25% or more. That to me sounds like they were stocking them up for the spring rush then leveling it out for the rest of the year. Possibly trying to get back to the old days where you might have to wait for a bike or get on a list to get a certian one.
