I don't know... you could take the cage and be done with it...

Problem solved...

I just use the National Cycle Fly Screen and it works for me. Keeps the wind off of my chest and doesn't cause any buffeting.

My solution was to use a dremel and cut 3.5 inches off the top of my quick detach shield. Stock, the edge was right at eye level, which I believed caused me to get bounced around anytime I went over 70, as well as being very distracting. Once I cut it, I look clearly over it now, and even up to 85 it's just fine.

I went with a 15" shield and the ultra's lowers. Works fine at 80-85mph which is where the bike seems to track the best. This summer I will try the scoot without the lowers and see where that takes me

You've learned the same lesson that I have: Keep it short or get it tall, but don't compromise in between. You either want the air to hit you at neck level or to go over your head. When they tell you that the top of the shield should be at nose level, they are leaving off the last of the sentence "...when sitting fully erect at maximum extension."

I had some wind buffeting wearing a full face helmet and my HD qd windshield. Got a new helmet, the same design as the old one, and I added 10 inch mini apes. I get so much buffeting now my glasses and head vibrate. I can't read the overhead street signs on the interstate when running above 55 mph. I will try to lower the windshield below the bottom triple tree and it that works I'll cut the widnshield down some. As it is now it is almost to ride behind the windshield. As another post said you would think Harley would get it right by now.

Is there a pic floating around of this shield? I ordered one and was curious what it's gonna look like.
