Progressive Insurance Adjuster is an Idiot!

I totaled a bike a few years ago, and progressive paid more than I thought it was worth, and quick. So, no complaints here. It you look at this objectively, yeah they're trying to save there company's money and their jobs, but there are as many car and bike owners trying to screw the insurance companies as there are bad insurance adjusters. Not affiliated with any ins. co. Just sayin'

Progressive did an outstanding job on my son's wreck. He only had his bike a few weeks and when returning home from work on a weekday afternoon on a four lane street a old lady in a new Buick Park Avenue turned left in front of him. He said that he saw the roof of the car twice as he cartwheeled over it. The bike was totaled.
Progressive took care of the payment and collected later from the lady's insurance. They paid 100% for his helmet, accessories , towing and $300 over msrp for the 883R as they were hard to find any left. The check was cut in 5 days. No hassles. They paid him at his house.
The ladies company made a fair offer for pain and suffering and also paid the medical costs.

Had a lady pull out in front of me and i hit her with my 76 Jeep. Insurance co tried to get me to settle for 700. It took awhile and finally told them if thats what its worth buy me another one for 700. and i will be happy. Hang in there and dig in.

Progressive was awesome to deal with when I got into my accident. As soon as the police report was filed they were out to look at my bike. The guy straight out told me he'd have a motorcycle specialist look at it. Also, anything the dealer said was from the crash got fixed, heck some scratched covers from the previous owner even got replaced. The progressive guy even told me straight out since it was Harley they would pay almost any amount to fix it plus they really rushed the dealer along. They payed more to have a dent in my tank and it repainted just so it would be faster than ordering a new one and the same decals. I got treated so good I switched my coverage over to them.

OK, I work for a HUGE international insurance conglomerate ( in IT ) and here is my take. While the adjusters do try to make sure you are not trying to take advantage of them, they are not paid to screw you. How long do you think a company will stay in business if they do nothing but screw over their customers? Come on guys think a little.
When you go to get insured there is a group of math geeks called the Actuarials who sit and figure out, based on where you live, how old you are, and what they are insuring, what is the likely hood of having a loss. Then they figure out what does the average loss cost and how often do they occur. Finally they figure out how many people do we insure in that "pool". Do the math and out pops your insurance rate. ( I know I have designed more then one of these quoting systems ). They make their money by selling volume and knowing how much to expect at a loss. They cannot sell that volume if they are know as cheats or thieves. Now some companies are better then others, my bike, cars, and home are all under State Farm as they have always treated me well, but Progressive is well respected in the industry as well.
