old morgan styling - S&S Power...
Planet Engineering Ltd.
In February 2007, Planet Engineering was formed with "the express purpose of developing a vehicle to re-juvenate and enhance the traditional wind-in-the-hair experience of the original Morgan-type three-wheeler." Designed by Alan Pitcairn and Dave Kennell, the Ellipse is an open two seater powered by the S&S 96ci (1,575cc) V-twin engine giving the vehicle a top speed in excess of 125 mph and a 0 - 60 time of approximately 6.5 seconds.
The chassis at the front of the vehicle is constructed from round DOM mechanical tubing whilst the rear is constructed from square tubing. The body is self-coloured glass fibre, fully bonded for increased strength and helps to provide the vehicle with a weight of less than 850lbs. It also features removable front and rear sections to allow maintenance. The Ellipse is a "turn key" vehicle that features all new parts and so does not rely on a donor vehicle.
The vehicle in the photograph is the prototype and work is now underway to create production vehicles that will be available with various options.

I hope this works... is a Utube video of the Malvern Links Morgan Works. Hand-hammered panels, wooden body parts, hand soldering, absolutely incredible craftsmen, many fourth and fifth generation employees.
More later...

Another video (German) from the Morgan factory, it starts with the selection and milling of rough wood from which many structural components are made.

Some of the V Twins that Morgan has used in their Three Wheelers, including the Famous J.A.P. engine of the 1932 Sports model! Makes you think of Burt Munro when you look at these old cars!!!
