Default HID headlight

The other day I saw HID conversion kits on EBay and was wondering if anybody is running one of those or the HD version of it?

The EBay kits I saw went for somewhere between $69 and $89. Kinda curious as to the reliablity on those things. Wouldn't want to be out in BFE and have it take a dump on me.

I did the Sylvania HID conversion on my F150 and love it. They have been in there for 5 years without any problems.

Most of the e-bay ones come from China - they tend to list German or MIJ ballasts. In general they are not bad for the money, unless you have a problem. I had a ballast go, it was free, but $35 shipping and it was only a week old.

Customer service is terrible for the most part.

Agree there is a lot of stuff with cheap ballasts out there that dont last. Theres a guy on this forum that sells them and claims to be good quality. I have done research and what he has is good quality. I forgot his name but Im sure someone will come along and mention it here. They are a bit pricey but you get what you pay for. A pair foe my RG would be round $500.

I tried an upgrade to Sylvania Silverstars on RG. Better then stock but not by much. I swear by the Silverstars in my cages. That double headlight on the FLTR's is like putting 2 bulletz in the gun for Russian roulette...
I've heard of a reflector upgrade for the RG's to the european specs but can't find it. Maybe my eyes are just bad.
