stuck on the interstate
I just want to know if this has happened to anyone else? Was riding back from my two day trip and my 93 FXR starting acting like it was out of fuel. Day one had about 250 miles and I was only 100 miles into day two. It just lost all throttle. I pulled over to the side of the interstate let it rest for a couple of minutes and then she ran for another mile and did it again switched it to my reserve tank even though i wasnt out fuel. I ran to the next gas station filled her up, only took a half a tank, and she ran fine. Any ideas?

could be a hole in the fuel line inside the tank...when you filled it with gas it brought the level above the hole so it wasnt sucking air.. sounds like what i had happen

If you have a vacuum operated petcock you might have a vacuum leak, were you pulling hard at the time? maybe going up hill? low vacuum will shut off the fuel flow.

Spray WD40 on the vacuum line in question while the bike is idling, it should make no difference to the idle speed, if it does you have a leak.
