Sturgis Tent Camping?

I stayed at Lamphere last year which was my first year. It was decent, fair priced, had showers and was pretty close to everything so I liked it. We may stay at Buffalo Chip this year to see all the bands, hopefully it'll be pretty crazy.

I looked at staying at the Buffalo Chip too, but I went Shade Valley. You can still attend all their events without tenting amongst the chaos Cost a little more, but I think I'll appreciate the shade and relative quiet.

Bear Butte Creek Campground. Food, bar, bands. Just a couple miles East of Buffalo Chip. I belive that a few other members of the HDF. stay there as well. Just google it and you will find a web site. Been staying there for several years. Let me know if you decide to stay there, meet and greet would be cool,WR.

I like Iron Horse campground...but then i'm a geezer that appreciates being able to sleep at night. It's pretty quiet, not far from town, and has hot showers. Also fairly inexpensive. Depends on what you're looking for.

It depends on what you are looking for and how much you want to spend. I have stayed at the Buffalo Chip and at Glencoe. I prefer Glencoe because it is quieter and cleaner than the chip. I also saw more titty at Glencoe. Buffalo Chip has a lot better concerts. When I was at the Chip in 06, they never cleaned the restrooms there and the stench was overwhelming. If I ever go back, I will probably stay at Katmandu.

I have stayed at the Elkview Campground at exit 32 about 6 miles south of Sturgis. Good showers and restrooms. A pub and grill near the entrance. $20 per nite per person. It is a quiet place.
It used to be $15 per nite but inflation you know. No reservations needed for tent camping as they have 20 acres for it and there is always a lot of space.
