Went to the Cherokee rally in NC. Maggie Valley NC had a rally as well, and a bike show. Road all through the western NC mountains. Some of the roads in the mountains were being repaved so it was a little "scary" around some of the tight twistys, one rider on a suzuki sport bike did go down on GA 197 in Clarksville, but his riding gear saved his azz. It completly riped off the shoulder part of his jacket, but no injury. If anyone goes up to the NC mountains, be careful of the loose gravel on the back roads. All in all, about 500 miles this weekend. Can't wait to go back. The BRP was fogged in so I took my alternet route, NC 215 to US 276 a great loop up around Waynesville NC. Another great ride is SR 63 west to SR 209 lots of great twisties and scenery.

0 miles. Rained in Chicago area.
Question for HarleyWood, how was that " Ride Like a Pro" video? I thought about getting it. I know the basics and have been riding for a year now. I believe they teach the slow manuevers on that tape.
Thanks,
Dan

Dan,
I really like it, I had a 25 year hiatus from riding so it serves as a good refresher as well as lots of good info on slow speed maneuvering. I watched it all the way through twice while my bike was on order. It is divided into "chapters" on the cd so you can also just jump in and see a couple of lessons and then go practice.
I take the little handbook with me when I practice and also instead of cones, I cut a bunch of tennis ***** in half and keep them in a zip lock bag. Quick and easy to step off a course and then just toss the ball back in the saddle back after I'm done.
I would rank it as the best accessory I've bought and its only about $30 bucks IIRC.

I did the same as you on Saturday. Have to agree, the Ride Like a Pro DVD is great. The problem I have here in the UK, is finding a parking lot that's empty and big enough and not obstructed with landscaping, trees etc. I got up early and went to the local rugby club car park, It's just about big enough.
In the afternoon four of us took a ride out to the Thames Vally dealership. Sunday the wife & I rode out to a small airfield about 50 miles away, they were holding a microlight aircraft trade show.
Today is a bank holliday, a few of us met up at the local dealership and rode out to a local village show. Didn't do as many miles as some of you guys, but all in all a pleasant relaxing weekend, and the rain held off which is always a bonus.
