Default Factory warranty ends today

My factory warranty runs out today. I’m going to take a chance and not buy the extended warranty. They wanted from $759 for 1 year to $1644 for 5 years. On my 07 Heritage

Good luck. I hope it turns out to be a good decision for you.

Several months ago, I purchased a used 2005 FLHTCI from a local dealer and bought the 4 year extended warranty for about $1,600. While I may never need the warranty, it will nevertheless provide me some peace of mind with regard to expensive repairs. Also, if I should decide to sell the bike within that 4 years, I'm sure that it would increase the price I could get for the bike since the warranty is transferrable.

The 5 year package works out to $328 a year. If you're going to keep the bike that long, might be worth it. And it is an 07.

Extended warranties are a waste of money. Unless you get really unlucky.

I take the advice of every consumer advocate source I've ever read and don't buy extended warranties on any products.

welcome to the dark side.... mine expired in Nov.... take the money and use it for your own "stimulus package" that's about the only way you'll get a "stimulus package"...

I never used my warranty, for an 07! Don't waste your money.

I think that the situation regarding extended warranties is a little different for a person who bought the bike new versus a person (like me) who bought a bike that was 4 years old and had 23,000 miles on it.

In my situation, for $1,600 I was able to get FOUR YEARS of warranty which is twice as long as a new bike warranty while letting someone else (the previous owner) take the big hit on depreciation.

So, in effect, I got the bike at used bike prices (plus $1,600) and got a warranty that was twice as long as a NEW bike warranty. I would have had to pay about $8,000 to $10,000 more for a comparable new bike and would have received only one-half as much warranty.
